Media Recommendations from the Year

In no particular order, here's some great media I've enjoyed this year. I recommend checking these out. Or don't, make your own list and send it my way?

• Bad Guy by Brasstactics
  • Brasstactics is just so fun. Their whole Tribute to the Groove album is incredible.
• Woodbine podcast
  • Complicated vampire noir, monster of the week, great banter, steamy subtext and set in Toronto. 10/10 recommendation, absolutely amazing followup to Parkdale Haunt.
• Chrysalis podcast
  • This is a few years old now but just wonderful sci fi what if story. It starts strong and rumbles though an intense 14 episodes, keeping on the pace. A tale of loss, madness, revenge and how far is too far. I'm not doing it justice, check out this great antihero story!
• Aliens, say your prayers
  • If I ever join a band we're going to have to play this. This probably seems out of place with the rest of this but I stand by it. The whole album is a great listen; Andrey Avkhimovich is brilliant.
• Bobiverse series
  • Bit of literary junk food but I thoroughly enjoyed reading through these this year.
• Slow Time Between the Stars
• Large format photography podcast
  • Really lovely, slow, deep, meaningful interviews with great, witty people. The interviews all seem really genuine and get at a type of meaningful photography I'd like to achieve one day.
• Better Offline
  • While at times (most times?) he comes across as fairly abrasive, Ed Zitron is doing wonderful work with this podcast, more journalists should be poking the obvious holes in tech, especially AI. Take with a big grain of salt.
• Murderbot Diaries
  • I resisted reading this series for quite a while, underestimating it. They go by too quickly, I really dig it.
